Chicago Officers Rescue Man Who Fell Into Icy Lake Michigan

Two SWAT police officers in Chicago pulled a man from the frigid waters off Lake Michigan after he had fallen in on Saturday, February 15.

The alarm was raised after a jogger saw the man slip and splash into the icy water.

Footage shared by the Chicago Police Department shows the SWAT officers racing towards the man after he had fallen from the lakefront trail at North Lake Shore Drive.

The clips shows the officers pull the man from the lake and administer first aid as other emergency responders arrive.

The man was transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in critical condition, police said.

“A special thank you also goes out to the individual who looked out for their fellow Chicagoan and flagged down assistance from our first responder community. As always, if you see something, say something,” police wrote on Facebook. Credit: Chicago Police Department via Storyful
