Liverpool's summer transfer window has been a quiet one with just two players coming in to strengthen Arne Slot's side.

The Reds completed the signing of goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili on Monday, in a deal worth £30m. The Georgian international will spend the season on loan with Valencia so won't be able to make an impact at Anfield in the current campaign, but remains a promising talent for the future.

Slot will, however, be able to reap the rewards from Federico Chiesa's £13m arrival, bolstering the Reds' options up front. Liverpool have a plethora of attacking talent and options in the final third, although there had been hope they'd be able to bring in a defensive midfielder before the window closes at 11pm this evening.

The Reds boss was questioned about further signings before the deadline, but said: "We're happy with the ones we signed because, as I've said many times before, it's difficult to make the team even stronger because we already have a very strong team. So if we find them, we're very happy with that.

"Chiesa is someone who can help us in the short term and Marmadashvili is one of the examples of this club, what they've done in the past as well, they look at the future, long-term of the club. That's why we signed him."

When pressed on potential deadline day incomings, he added: "I'm not expecting anything but it's not different to all the days before. If we see an opportunity, we could act. But I'm not expecting anything.

"(And on potential outgoings) Same for incomings transfers or loans, if it's the right opportunity for the player and us, we will act. But my main attention is on Man United and not on outgoings."

With that in mind, the Liverpool Echo has taken a look at three ways the Reds could line up after deadline day...

Liverpool team one - Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Gravenberch, Mac Allister, Szoboszlai; Salah, Jota, Diaz.

It's no coincidence that the team Slot selected against Brentford is the number one team in our list. It's arguably the strongest XI at his disposal, with plenty of options available off the bench.

Alisson is the clear number one at Anfield and a back four of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ibrahima Konate, Virgil Van-Dijk and Andy Robertson is a solid defensive base. Ryan Gravenberch has started the season well in a deeper, number six role, leaving Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai to impact the game higher up the pitch.

The front three of Mo Salah, Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz have all started the season well.

Liverpool team two - Kelleher; Bradley, Gomez, Van Dijk, Tsimikas; Endo, Jones, Elliott; Gakpo, Chiesa, Nunez.

There has been question marks over Caoimhin Kelleher's future at Anfield, but with the transfer deadline drawing closer, the more likely it looks he'll stay with the Reds. If he were to depart it would leave Liverpool scrambling to find a replacement, something they'd be reluctant to do.

If something were to happen to Alisson, he's shown he can be a reliable deputy, as has full-back Connor Bradley. Joe Gomez has found himself on the fringes of things early on this season, with the England international linked with a move away from Anfield but again, is a reliable understudy in the heart of defence.

Van Dijk is the first name on the team sheet while Kostas Tsmikas enjoyed a solid pre-season. Wataro Endo, Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliot also provide depth to Slot's squad. Cody Gakpo, Federico Chiesa and Darwin Nunez are also a formidable front three.

Liverpool team three - Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Quansah, Van Dijk, Robertson; Gravenberch, Elliott, Szoboszlai; Salah, Jota, Chiesa.

Team three is almost a perfect rotation for Slot. Jarell Quansah started the opening game of the campaign against Ipswich Town, but was hauled off at half-time.

The young defender has shown enough quality to suggest he'll play a part this season, despite a tough start. Starting alongside the likes of Alexander-Arnold, Van Dijk and Robertson will only help his development in the long-term.

Getting the balance right in midfield will prove key this season. As previously mentioned Gravenberch has started the season well in the number six role, but there have also been calls to see Elliott start in a more central role.

A front three of Salah, Jota and Chiesa is an exciting prospect Liverpool fans can look forward to seeing at some point this season.
