Your child could be the next Harry Potter or Hermione Granger as casting call issued for HBO series

Has your child got what it takes to be the next Harry Potter, Ron Weasley or Hermione Granger? If you think they do and, crucially, they think they do, then they can apply to star in the upcoming HBO Original series based on the popular children's novel.

A search is underway for three young actors to play the lead characters in the show and this week, an open casting call for residents of the UK and Ireland has been announced. The series is officially looking for actors aged between nine and 11 years old in April 2025 to take on the roles.

The TV series, which will serve as an adaptation of J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter books, recently found its showrunner – Francesca Gardiner, while Mark Mylod will direct several episodes and serve as executive producer. He joins fellow executive producers, J.K. Rowling, Neil Blair and Ruth Kenley-Letts of Brontë Film and TV, as well as David Heyman of Heyday films.
