Child knocked down on Glasgow road as police and ambulance close off street in Knightswood

A Glasgow road has been shut by officers and ambulance crews after a child was knocked down in the west end of the city today (June 11).

Emergency services rushed to the scene on Kirkton Avenue in Knightswood at around 3.10pm following reports of the incident

The nature of the child's injuries are not yet known.

A witness told Glasgow Live: "Major incident in Knightswood. The road has been closed at the top near Polnoon Avenue."

A police spokesperson said: "Around 3.10pm on Tuesday, 11 June 2024 police received a report of a child having been struck by a vehicle in Kirkton Avenue, Glasgow.

"Emergency services are at the scene."
