Child rushed to hospital after being trapped in vehicle in serious A406 North Circular crash
A 12-year-old boy was rushed to hospital after being trapped in a serious accident this morning on the North Circular. The westbound accident continues to hold traffic, as the road remains closed this afternoon (November 12).
Emergency services were called at 11.45am this morning to a road traffic collision on the A406 in Chingford. Two vehicles were involved and a child was confirmed to be trapped inside one of the vehicles. The Metropolitan Police confirmed that the injuries are non-life threatening and non-life changing.
The child was subsequently released from the vehicle and were taken to hospital along with an adult by London Ambulance Service crews. The incident continues to cause significant travel disruption on the A406 in both directions and on surrounding roads and motorists are advised to avoid the area at this time.

The accident, which happened at around Hall Lane (Cooks Ferry Interchange). Congestion goes back to Waterworks Corner, past Walthamstow, and eastbound queues back through the Fore Street Tunnel in Edmonton to the A10. Trapped traffic is being diverted along the exit slip road towards Harbet Road.
A spokesperson for London Fire Brigade commented: "Firefighters were called at 11.45am this morning (November 12) to a road traffic collision on the A406 in Chingford. Two vehicles were involved and a child was confirmed to be trapped inside one of the vehicles.
"Firefighters worked alongside emergency services colleagues to release the child. They were taken to hospital along with a second person - an adult - by London Ambulance Service crews. Two fire engines and a fire rescue unit attended the scene. The incident continues to cause significant travel disruption on the A406 in both directions and on surrounding roads and motorists are advised to avoid the area at this time."
A spokesperson for the Met Police added: "Police were called at11.38am on Tuesday, November 12 to reports of a collision between two vans in Chingford Road, Waltham Forest. Officers, the London Ambulance Service (LAS), London Fire Brigade (LFB) and London Air Ambulance attended.
"Emergency services helped free a 12-year-old occupant from one of the vehicles. He and another man were taken to a hospital and their injuries were assessed as non life-changing and non life-threatening. No arrests were made. Enquiries ongoing."
