Children run in fear after man allegedly exposes himself

Merseyside Police confirmed a man has been arrested in connection to an incident where a man exposed himself to three children

A man allegedly exposed himself to children outside a shop on a main road. Merseyside Police confirmed it received a report that a man had exposed himself to three children aged between 10-11 near Kelly's Discount Booze on Liverpool Road in Huyton at around 3.30pm.

The force said the children ran into the shop in fear and the incident was later reported to police the same day. A 55-year-old man from Halewood has been arrested on suspicion of indecent exposure.

He has been taken into custody and will be interviewed. Neighbourhood Inspector Jen Murray said: "I would like to reassure the local community that we take incidents of this nature extremely seriously.

“This would have been a really upsetting incident for the children involved, who have been left shocked and distressed by the experience. Officers have acted swiftly to make an arrest and our investigation is progressing well.”
