Mythical Human-Shaped Cloud Spotted Emerging From Ash Of Chilean Volcano
Spooked Chileans suspect it may be a sign from the Gods...
This is the eerie moment a human-shaped cloud appeared to emerge from the ash of the Chilean volcano which erupted earlier this week.
In a country where volcanoes have long had a mythical status, residents now suspect it may be a sign.
The Calbuco volcano in Los Lagos, Chile erupted on Thursday for the first time in four decades, sending a thick plume of smoke and ash over 12 miles into the sky as awe-stricken locals watched on.
Hariet Grunewald, 33, who lives in the nearby town of Puerto Montt and who captured the spooky man-like figure, said: ‘When I heard the eruption I rushed to the window of my house and just started taking photos.
‘And then I saw this man appear. At first I thought perhaps it was just me who could see him. But when I showed my friends and family they all agreed.’
According to legend, the volcanoes are people from ancient royalty battling against the advance of the mountain.

Local man Juanma Ortiz Arredondo, 60, said: ‘An erupting volcano is God’s way of showing he is unhappy.
‘This smoke man is probably a message. That He is keeping a watch on us and our behaviour.’
