Snickers has dabbled in specialty flavours - cookies, almond, and "crunchers" have come out, to name a few - but compared to brands like Oreo, which seems to pop out a new flavour every week, the classic candy tends to stick to its roots.

That's what made the announcement of three new specialty flavours all the more surprising: It's the first time the brand has debuted so many flavours at once, and they're announcing it months ahead of time.

Next June, Fiery, Salty and Sweet, and Espresso-flavoured Snickers will be available in stores for a limited time. Playing off the "You're not you when you're hungry" campaign, each flavour corresponds to a mood the Snickers can fix. If you're feeling wimpy, grab the fiery bar. Indecisive? Salty and sweet it is. And when you're irritable, espresso apparently does the trick.

Though the candy won't be on shelves for quite some time, Delish editors got a sneak preview of the new flavours, and had plenty of opinions to share. Here's the general consensus:

The new bars all have peanuts, caramel, and milk chocolate; it's the nougat that's infused with a new flavour. The fiery bar has a hot pepper nougat, though some editors thought it had more of a chili flavour than pepper. One editor described it as the friend that you think is really cool, then unexpectedly shows up to a party WAY too drunk. The flavour definitely sneaks up on you, but if you like red hots, you'll probably enjoy this flavour.

"That's something you wouldn't give to your enemies."

"It's a little irritating."

This bar's nougat is salted-caramel flavoured. Some people got a bite of sea salt, but otherwise, thought it tasted pretty similar to a normal Snickers. It's the friend you didn't really invite to the party, but will talk to anyway.

"It's definitely more salty than sweet."

"It's literally the same."

Espresso

Finally, there's the espresso flavour. Editors were split on this one; some (myself included) thought it had a strong coffee taste, others thought it tasted like a normal Snickers. One outlier thought it tasted like a buttered popcorn Jelly Belly, which could be a good thing.

"If you like coffee, you'll like the espresso."

"Espresso is like coffee breath."

All in all, none of the new flavours were particularly amazing - it's hard to top the original, after all - but they're interesting enough to warrant a try.
