Chimney collapses in Stoke-on-Trent as firefighters and building inspector called in
Firefighters were called in after a chimney collapsed in Stoke-on-Trent leaving debris at risk of calling into the road. They used an aerial platform remove loose bricks and other debris from the roof of a building in Collinson Road, Goldenhill.
The alarm was raised shortly before 11pm last Friday (January 3). A building inspector and gas engineer was also sent to the scene.
A Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "We have safely removed debris from the roof of a home in Stoke-on-Trent after a chimney partially collapsed. Crews went to the address on Collinson Road, Goldenhill, just before 10.50pm, on Friday.

"They used our aerial ladder platform (ALP) to access the area 10 metres up and remove loose bricks and other debris from the damaged chimney stack. No-one was reported injured. Crews made the area was safe before leaving at around 1.30am on Sunday."
