Don't mess with 'Sister Justice': Chinese woman, 57, sees off knife-wielding mugger by telling him off

A woman has been hailed a heroine and called 'Sister Justice' after footage emerged of her wagging her finger and telling off a would-be mugger who held a knife to her throat.

Donning a mask and glasses to hide his appearance the man in his 20s came up behind the 57-year-old woman as she was at a cashpoint in China.

But the woman simply brushed aside the knife, turned on him and began to upbraid him. CCTV footage shows him looking shamefacedly away as she talks to him.

"I said to him 'Young man you are so young, why are you doing this sort of thing? Do you think this is a good idea? There are security cameras here and you are being monitored,'" she told Reuters.

Before he fled she even offered him money which he refused to take.

Shortly after the incident the man was identified and arrested by police. When quizzed by a local TV news station the humbled would-be thief apologised for what he had done.

"I feel sorry. I let down my mum and dad and I want to say sorry to that woman too," he said.
