Chinese Freighter Runs Aground at Russian Port

A storm beached the Chinese freighter ship Xing Yuan at the eastern Russian port of Kholmsk on December 6.

The evacuation of the crew began on December 7, Russia’s Tass News Agency said.

There was no visible damage to the hull of the ship, Tass said, but divers were making inspections. The freighter wasn’t carrying any cargo, and was not leaking fuel.
