Chiwetel Ejiofor has dropped some hints about his role in the forthcoming Bridget Jones film, which he teased as being "iconic".
The Oscar-nominated 12 Years A Slave star has been announced for the cast of the franchise's fourth film, Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy, but was keeping plot details tightly under wraps.
However, he did confirm that he would be taking on a classic Bridget Jones scene and promised fans would love it.
What, how, and why?
We might not know much about Bridget Jones 4 yet, but Chiwetel Ejiofor has promised it will be "iconic" and has dropped some hints about what his role will involve - including a classic piece of kit from the films.
The next adaptation of Helen Fielding's work, starring Renee Zellweger as the title character, is due to be released on Valentine's Day 2025 but few details have been shared so far.
Chiwetel Ejiofor is set to play a character called Mr Wallaker and when he appeared on The One Show on Friday, host Alex Jones was determined to get him to spill some secrets, telling him of his starring role in the film: "This is iconic."
Ejiofor replied: "I can tell you very little," but Jones refused to let him off the hook, asking: "Is there a fight scene? Are you a love interest?"
"I think you are going to love it."

He told her: "I am going to say nothing about the plot of Bridget Jones."
But when she asked: "Do you wear a Christmas jumper?" Ejiofor gave in and confirmed: "Of course I wear a Christmas jumper.
"I will say it was an amazing time and it was really, really fun to work on it and a really great team. It really is truly an iconic piece. I think you are going to love it."
What else happened on The One Show?
Ejiofor had stopped into The One Show to talk about his latest film, Rob Peace, a drama he wrote, directed and starred in which tells the true story of a US man determined to free his father from prison.
The film stars Jay Will as Rob Peace and Mary J. Blige as his mother, but Ejiofor sang the praises of popstar Camila Cabello who also appears in it.
He said: "She was great, she was very excited to take on this and it's very different in many ways to other stuff she's done. She's incredibly charismatic and I really wanted someone who could play well opposite Jay Will who leads the film as Rob Peace with that kind of charisma.
"Camila was perfect. I'd seen her in Cinderella and I was stunned by how charismatic and how effortless she was as well as this remarkable wider persona she has. So I was very intrigued and really thrilled that she responded so well to the material when I sent her the script and wanted to be part of the film."
The One Show airs on BBC One at 7pm on weekdays.
