Chloe Madeley was rushed to A&E with unusual life-threatening medical condition
Richard Madeley revealed his daughter Chloe had to be rushed to A&E and have her stomach pumped - after eating too much cheese. The Good Morning Britain presenter made the confession while appearing with Chloe on ITV show Romesh Ranganathan's Parents' Evening on Saturday night.
Chloe confessed she was told by doctors that she had 'gone into bacterial shock' after eating two wheels of camembert following a night out. Bacterial shock, also known as septic shock, is a life-threatening medical condition that occurs when the body's response to a bacterial infection causes dangerously low blood pressure.
Richard said: "Chloe actually ended up in A&E on Christmas morning because of cheese. She was about 17/18. She'd been out on the lash on Christmas Eve.

"We'd all gone to bed. I could hear noises coming from the nearest bathroom through the night. I thought she's not very well, she's had too much to drink.
"She'd actually come home and eaten two rounds of camembert from the fridge. She's eaten two of them in one go and she's basically got cheese poisioning."
Chloe then revealed how serious her condition was, saying: "The MA [medical assistant] said I'd gone into bacterial shock."
The personal trainer then had to have her stomach pumped.
Chloe, now 37, recently shared how she struggled to form a close relationship with her mother, Judy Finnigan as a child, due to her ill health. Opening up to host Georgia Hayton on the Made by Mamas podcast, Chloe said: "It was really unfourtunate actually, after I was born she got really bad postnatal depression and it went undiagnosed for a really long time and then when she was finally on a good track to getting that sorted out, it turned out that she needed a hysterectomy.
"And she'd needed one again for a really long time and didn't know about it and then when she finally had the hysterectomy it didn't go very well, the operation didn't go very well, the recovery didn't go very well. And it was just kind of really weirdly and unfourtunately for our relationship, kind of event after event after event that really all got in the way of us really bonding and by the time I was a teenager, my relationship with my dad was so solidified and my realtionship with my mum was just very murky and not really that solid."
Chloe announced in October 2023 that she had split from husband and former rugby player James Haskell, with the couple having one child together called Bodhu.
