Yahoo News Chris Brown released after Paris arrest following rape allegation
American singer Chris Brown was released late on Tuesday evening (January 22) without charge in Paris after being questioned on suspicion of rape, French police say.
An investigation into the alleged incident is continuing. Brown denied the allegations.
The star and two other men were arrested on Monday after a 24-year-old woman alleged she was assaulted in a hotel in the city earlier this month. The two men arrested with Brown, identified by French media as a bodyguard and a friend, have also reportedly been released.

Shortly after Brown, 29, was released from the prosecutor's office, his lawyer, Raphael Chiche, announced that he was preparing to sue the woman for making the claims against the singer.
"Chris Brown is free. No lawsuits were filed against him," Chiche tweeted. "He vigorously challenges the charges against him. A complaint for slanderous denunciation will be filed tomorrow with the public prosecutor of Paris."
Brown took to social media to deny any wrongdoing.
"I want to make it perfectly clear, this is false," he wrote on Instagram, alongside a picture that said: "This bitch lyin'," before going on to say it was "against my character and morals".
The Instagram post has since been deleted.
Brown's lawyer Chiche said the R&B singer "energetically" professed his innocence and intended to sue for defamation.
The alleged incident is said to have occurred at the luxury Mandarin Oriental hotel. The woman alleged she partied with Brown and friends at the Crystal Lounge in Paris' 8th arrondissement on the night of the 15th before returning to Brown's hotel, the Mandarin Oriental.
