Chris Martin and Dakota Jonhson's reason for breakup as they split for second time

Chris Martin and Dakota Jonhson have split up for the second time after six years, it has been reported. And an insider has revealed the reason behind the huge celebrity break-up.

The Coldplay frontman and Hollywood actress started dating in 2017 and got matching infinity symbol tattoos a year later. They confirmed the relationship in September 2018 when the Fifty Shades actress told Tatler: "I'm not going to talk about it. But I am very happy."

But a year later in June 2019 the couple reportedly split briefly. It was then reported that they had called off their relationship due to their differing views of the future.

At the time, Chris was allegedly keen to start a family with Dakota, while she reportedly wasn't ready to have children. By the next month they were dating again, and Dakota later revealed she had changed her mind about becoming a mum.

Talking about her stepkids - Chris's children Apple and Moses with Gqyneth Paltrow - she said: “I love those kids like my life depends on it. With all my heart. How do I feel about motherhood? I’m so open to that. I’ve gotten to this place where I really want to experience everything life has to offer.

"And especially being a woman, I’m like: ‘What a magical f***ing thing to do. What a crazy, magical, wild experience. If that’s meant to happen for me, I’m totally down for it. We’re not here for very long, so if I’m meant to be a mother, bring it on.”

But now the couple has reportedly called time on their relationship again. This time, according to a source, it was hinted that their had been clashes between the A-list couple.

A source told the MailOnline: "Chris and Dakota have tried desperately hard over the past few months to make their relationship work. They'll always have love for each other but they've both come to the conclusion the relationship cannot be sustained long-term.

"They wanted it to work but it just hasn't, and they've now accepted it is best to move on."
