Christian Couple To Divorce As Protest Against Legalising Gay Marriage

A Christian couple have said that they will divorce in a protest against the legalisation of gay marriage.

Nick and Sarah Jensen, from Canberra, Australia say that if gay marriage is legalised by Australia’s government, it will devalue all marriages.

Nick Jensen, a prominent campaigning Christian, wrote a piece in the Canberra City News explaining his planned move, which would see the couple legally divorce, although they would still live together.

Jensen wrote, ‘Later this year, we may be getting a divorce. Our view is that marriage is a fundamental order of creation. Part of God’s human history.

‘And marriage of any couple is important to God regardless of whether that couple recognises God’s involvement or authority in it.

‘If our federal parliament votes to change the timeless and organic definition of marriage later on this year, it will have moved against the fundamental and foundational building block of Australian society and, indeed, human culture everywhere.’
