It's that time of year again when retailers and supermarkets unveil their Christmas adverts. As the battle for the top festive advert heats up, we're eager to know which brands you believe excel in evoking emotions during the holiday season.

Are you captivated by Aldi's Kevin, or does the Coca-Cola lorry steal your heart every time?

Or maybe it's the likes of John Lewis and now TK Maxx that you feel consistently hit the nail on the head. We're curious to find out who you think consistently delivers - is it the typically touching John Lewis, or the cheerful Asda with its star-studded appearances, like the Elf festive commercial from 2002?

One thing's for certain, we're currently in the heart of the prime Christmas advert season, and all the major supermarkets and retailers are aiming to pull at the customer's heartstrings in an effort to persuade you to shop with them.

What type of festive advert do you favour - are you a fan of the nostalgic advert - those that transport you back in time or are you more of an animation enthusiast?

Does it need to be emotional, like the John Lewis Man on the Moon advert, or do you prefer a more uplifting advert like Sainsbury's 1914, which commemorates the Christmas day truce during the First World War?

Or perhaps you're a fan of the slowed-down renditions of popular music hits, like the one featured in John Lewis' 2013 The Bear and the Hare advert, which included a mellow version of Keane's Somewhere Only We Know performed by Lily Allen, or the Excitable Tiger advert from 2019 that showcased Bastille's cover of REO Speedwagon's Can't Fight This Feeling.

While many of us enjoy these adverts for what they are, they often serve as reminders of the 'true' essence of Christmas, from family to thinking about and assisting those less fortunate than ourselves.

One thing is certain: the era of Christmas adverts shows no signs of slowing down. If anything, we can expect more in the future as numerous other retailers toss their adverts into the festive mix for all to see.
