New Christmas grotto for dogs in Essex where pooches can get a photo with Santa
As Christmas is just around the corner, you’d expect to start seeing lots of festive-themed activities happening across the county. Harlow’s The Harvey Centre is doing just that, with a very cute twist.
The Harvey Centre is getting ready to deck the halls and spread Christmas cheer with lots of tree-mendous festive fun for all the family… and they’re bringing back Dog Days. Dog Days happens every Tuesday and Wednesday, where furry friends are also welcome to meet and grab a snap with Santa in his grotto. A spokesperson for the event commented: “Pooches are sure to have a paw-sitively perfect time.”
Opening on the ground floor from November 14, visitors can stop by Santa’s brand-new grotto at the shopping centre, and be transported to lapland. The event itself features enchanting interactive decorations and a visit to the centre’s grotto, which promises to be a 'truly magical experience for all.'

In addition to Santa’s Grotto, ‘living Christmas Trees’ will be rocking around the centre on Saturday December 7, from 11am to 4pm. Visitors will have the opportunity to interact with and snap a selfie with these festive figures, too.
The shopping centre will also be hosting other festive events, with a Makers Markets on Saturday November 30, and Saturday December 14, from 11am to 4pm on The Terrace. A selection of unique, handcrafted Christmas gifts and treats from talented local makers and designers, as well as free craft workshops and live entertainment will be running over the holiday period.
Entry fee is £6 per child, and all children will receive a gift to take home. Photos and merchandise will be available to purchase separately. The grotto will be open daily until Christmas Eve and there is no need to pre-book.
