When is Christmas Jumper Day 2018? How does it raise money for Save the Children?
For many of us, Christmas is all about living life to the fullest. Whether that's mountains of delicious food or enjoying time with our closest friends and family.
It's easy to get caught up in the plentifulness of the festive season, but during these cold winter months, it's also important to remember those less fortunate than ourselves.
Thankfully, charity events like Christmas Jumper Day are the perfect opportunity to combine festive fun whilst doing some good.
This month, people across the country will be coming to work or school dressed a little differently to their usual attire – in a festive Christmas jumper.
Christmas Jumper Day is an initiative thought up by charity Save the Children to help create a brighter future for children.
The charity’s official website says: “Whether you join in at work, at home, at school or down the pub, it’s all about getting everyone together in your daftest woollies. And by donating £2 each, you’ll be giving children the chance to build a better future.”
Christmas Jumper Day is backed by a whole host of celebrities, including Fearne Cotton, Amanda Holden, Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes and Love Island winners Dani Dyer and Jack Fincham.
Jack said: "We're both well festive and love a good Christmas jumper so we're really excited to support Save the Children's Christmas Jumper Day - I'm even going to get the lads in the office to sign up too!
"It's super easy to do by wearing a crazy Christmas Jumper and donating £2 to help make a huge difference to the future of children around the world."
