Christmas shoppers can enjoy free parking across towns in Surrey district this December
Christmas shopping can be a rather taxing experience, feeling the stress of having to come up with gift ideas for each and every person and the towns are always packed as everyone is thinking the same thing. Luckily, this year, Mole Valley District Council (MVDC) is going to take some of the burden off your shoulders.
You can park for free and get your Christmas shopping done this December in selected car parks in Dorking, Leatherhead, Bookham and Ashtead on every Saturday in the lead up to Christmas. MVDC is making an effort to promote business in the town centres through offering free parking in selected council-owned car parks on Saturday, December 7, 14 and 21 2024.
MVDC is kindly offering all-day free parking on Saturdays in December in attempt to encourage people to visit Dorking, Leatherhead, Bookham and Ashtead and get involved in the wide range of local shopping, events, dining, and entertainment venues on offer in their towns.

The free parking period will cover 24 hours for all three Saturdays in December in the lead up to Christmas Day, and applies to all car parks owned and operated by Mole Valley District Council in these places. If anyone is to buy a parking ticket through the car-park machines on these days, the money will be donated to the Chairman’s Charity, the Amber Foundation.
Councillor Paula Keay, Cabinet Member for Sustainable Economy said: "We’re proud to bring back our free Christmas parking days for 2024. There are some fantastic events and opportunities to get the most out of this Christmas season whether taking in a pantomime at Dorking Halls or The Leatherhead Theatre, catching up with friends, or picking up festive fare and gifts for loved ones."
