“To me, to you” – or should we say, “I do”?
The little-known, third Chuckle brother Jimmy Patton has recently tied the knot with a fan, despite a 59-YEAR age gap between the pair.
Jimmy, 85, who regularly appeared alongside his younger siblings on the children’s TV series ‘ChuckleVision’, has married 26-year-old Amy Phillips, after proposing to her back in September 2015.
The ageing Romeo exchanged vows with his bride at the Southport Theatre and Convention Centre last weekend – but sadly Chuckle brothers Barry, 72, and Paul, 69, were not at the wedding, however other brother Brian, 82, did attend.
Barry, who was reportedly too unwell for the occasion, posted on Jimmy’s Facebook wedding snap: “Brilliant picture. So Sorry we couldn’t be there.xx”
Amy’s mum Mary, 65, recently spoke out about her daughter’s relationship, saying she takes no issue with the couple’s significant age difference.
She told The Sun: “The age gap doesn’t bother them or us at all. It’s love – so it doesn’t matter.
“Amy is happy and so are we. We are delighted and very proud.”
Speaking of the ceremony, she added: “Bobby Dennis the comedian came and so did Bernie Clifton.
“They are Jimmy’s mates and they both did speeches – they had everyone in fits of laughter.”
Meanwhile, Amy’s dad John – who, at 70 years of age, is almost 16 years younger than his daughter’s new husband – said he had a “great time” at the wedding.
Jimmy, who previously admitted he “never thought” he would find love again after his wife Valerie died almost seven years ago, met Amy on Facebook – where it was clearly love at first type.
The couple, who are currently enjoying a sun-drenched honeymoon in Gran Canaria, now share the retired comedian’s £255,000 detached home in Maltby, South Yorks.
