“I’m heartbroken over the news that ‘Chucky’ won’t be coming back for a fourth season, but am so grateful for the killer three years we did have,” creator Don Mancini shared in a statement. “I’d like to thank UCP/SYFY/Peacock/Eat the Cat, our awesome cast and Toronto-based crew (the best in the business), and finally, to our amazing fans, a big bloody hug. Your incredible #RenewChucky campaign really warmed Chucky’s cold heart. Chucky will return! He ALWAYS comes back.”

Chucky follows the infamous doll that turns up at a suburban yard sale, throwing an idyllic American town into chaos as a series of horrifying murders begin to expose the town’s hypocrisies and secrets.

The show starred Zackary Arthur, Björgvin Arnarson, Alyvia Alyn Lind, Brad Dourif, Devon Sawa and Jennifer Tilly. Executive producers included Mancini, Nick Antosca, Alex Hedlund, David Kirschner and Jeff Renfroe.

The Hollywood Reporter‘s chief TV critic Daniel Fienberg wrote in his review following the series’ season one premiere in 2021, “The violence is bloody but not gory. I’ve always found the franchise more funny than scary, and that continues here. The series is a tiny bit unnerving when it shows how humans interact with the doll, but when it’s just Chucky stabbing people with pointy objects — his versatility is captured in the various sharp implements that spell out the series’ title in the credits each week — I’m more likely to just giggle.”
