Chucky Cancelled at Syfy

Chucky‘s murder spree has officially come to an end: Syfy has cancelled Don Mancini’s killer doll show after three seasons, TVLine has learned.

“I’m heartbroken over the news that Chucky won’t be coming back for a fourth season, but am so grateful for the killer three years we did have,” series creator/executive producer Mancini said in a statement. “I’d like to thank UCP/SYFY/Peacock/Eat the Cat, our awesome cast and Toronto-based crew (the best in the business), and finally, to our amazing fans, a big bloody hug. Your incredible #RenewChucky campaign really warmed Chucky’s cold heart. Chucky will return! He ALWAYS comes back.”

In the small-screen iteration of the long-running Child’s Play franchise, the Good Guy doll-turned-psychopath was still feuding with a new crop of kids. In Season 3, Jake (Zackary Arthur), Devon (Björgvin Arnarson) and Lexy (Alyvia Alyn Lind) followed Chucky to Washington, D.C., where the doll managed to infiltrate the White House to terrorize the president’s (Devon Sawa) family.

The third run — which wrapped up in May — also starred franchise veterans Jennifer Tilly (reprising her role of Tiffany Valentine), Fiona Dourif and Brad Dourif, who not only voices the Chucky doll but appeared in the flesh during its last two episodes. (Read our season finale recap here.)
