Chunks of Ice Blown Onto Shore of Lake Superior in Wisconsin

Large chunks of ice were pushed onto the shore of Lake Superior in Ashland, Wisconsin, on March 24.

The phenomenon is known as ice shove, and occurs during the early spring months as temperatures rise and high winds break up the icy surface of the lake.
