A chunky gold chain is the bling to be in this party season
If you buy one piece of jewellery this winter, make it a gold chain.
We first noticed the trend all over the street style set at Copenhagen Fashion Week back in the summer, and since then short, chunky gold chains have been trickling onto our feeds and wish lists.
And they’re set to be the only bling worth having come the New Year.
In fact, Net-a-Porter have bet heavily on the trend and ordered a whopping 840 units of chain necklaces for spring 2020.
The beauty of this jewellery trend is that it really does span the gamut from the high street to the high end.
There’s a really great one on Mango for £19.99 but, should you (ahem) have £36,380 to spare, you could also opt for the really rather fabulous 18K Rose Gold Diamond Chunky Chain Necklace from Shay.
Personally I’ve got my eye on London brand By Alona’s chunky gold plated textured ‘Tiffany’ chain, set to drop next week. At a very reasonable £190, this is statement bling that treads the perfect balance between pretty and punchy.
If you’re more of a minimal dresser, opt for Monica Vinader’s Alta Capture charm necklace. It’s designed to be bedecked with charms and trinkets, but wear it as it comes for a sleek and contemporary take on the trend. At £525 it’s a little pricier, but you’re paying for the 18ct gold vermeil on sterling silver, which should last longer than regular gold plating.
Whatever your vibe and budget, one thing is for sure, a chunky chain is the perfect way to bring some attitude to your look this party season.
