A church belonging to a lesser-known Christian denomination may soon open in Hull as a planning application is to be considered.

35-37 Coelus Street in Hull may soon become the home of His Kingdom Church, a group with 100 members that currently holds its services in the function room at David Lloyd Gym, Kingswood.

The site in question has previously been owned by an office supplies company but has been vacant for over a year.

The group, who define themselves as a "Jesus focused, spirit filled church" plan to use the premises for worship services every Sunday morning, evening sessions every other Friday evening, a weekly youth group, and evening adult teaching sessions of a religious, ethical, and personal development nature.

A decision has yet to have been made regarding the success of the planning application.
