Cider Floods Across Road After Strongbow Lorry Overturns

Motorists were left decidedly scrumpy after a lorry flipped over on a roundabout – sending hundreds of litres of cider spilling onto the road.

Police and rescue teams were forced to use mops to clean gallons of Strongbow- which flooded across the A44/A4103 roundabout in Rushwick, Worcester.

And while the driver of the 38-tonne lorry was miraculously unhurt, it took West Mercia Police three hours to clean up the boozy mess – closing the road shortly after 5.30PM.

Six police cars and a tow-truck rushed to the scene, and local farmers even bought their tractors to help clean up the mess.

Posting details of the incident on Twitter, South Worcestershire Police said: ‘Strongbow Lorry back on four wheels, road still blocked currently.

#teamwork #strongbow’.

Mark Harris, 23, who was stuck in the traffic jam, said: ‘The smell of booze was overwhelming. When I finally got home my missus was convinced I’d gone to the pub.

Anyone else feeling quite thirsty suddenly?
