Her eldest son and manager Robert Willis spoke about his mum’s final moments on Our Cilla, a tribute programme celebrating the singer and TV presenter.

Sharing their last moments together, Robert recalled: “I’d gone for a jog, gone for a swim and stuff.

“She was sitting around having a glass of champagne, killing herself laughing at Jeremy Kyle - without the hearing aids obviously - so blaring out across Marbella.

“We hung out and at about 1 o'clock, I said I was going to do a shop. I said goodbye and that was the last time I saw her.”

He also spoke about how she was suffering with ‘standard things that people as they get older would suffer’, explaining: “Her hearing had started to go, so she had to start wearing hearing aids.

“Typical of my mum, she wouldn’t wear them. The thing that really affected her physically was her arthritis.

“She was an amazing mum, it was good fun to be with her.”

The late star fell and hit her head on her sun terrace after losing her balance, leaving her unconscious.

Her 41-year-old son Ben said him and his brothers (Robert, 45, and Jack, 35) took comfort in the fact that she passed away in the place that she loved.

Many of Cilla’s friends, including Paul O’Grady, Sir Cliff Richard, Joan Collins, Jimmy Tarbuck and Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber will also pay tribute to the star in the programme.

‘Our Cilla’ airs on Christmas Day at 10.45pm on ITV.
