Cinemas to warn about flashing lights in Incredibles 2

From Digital Spy

Incredibles 2 will now warn fans about the strobe lighting in the film, thanks to one moviegoer's tweet going viral.

According to Twitter user Veronica Lewis, the highly-anticipated Pixar film is "filled with tons of strobe/flashing lights" that could trigger effects in those who are photosensitive.

The Hollywood Reporter claims that audiences will now be warned by cinemas about the lighting effects in the film.

In a spoiler-free thread, Lewis voiced her concerns, it went viral, and soon caught Disney's attention.

Her initial tweet read: "HEALTH ALERT I haven't seen this mentioned in a lot of places, but the new Incredibles 2 movie (#incredibles2) is filled with tons of strobe/flashing lights that can cause issues for people with epilepsy, migraines, and chronic illness. This thread is spoiler free."

She went on to describe the effects in the film and how characters specifically uses strobe lighting to disorientate people.

"One of these scenes lasts over 90 seconds with continuous strobe lights, other scenes last anywhere from 5-30 seconds.

She continued: "These scenes are also spread out across the movie and often come without warning. My descriptive audio device warned me about the larger scenes, but other times it was like strobe lights came out of nowhere for no reason."

Lewis didn't call for people to boycott the film, but even if she did, we somehow think it wouldn't have hurt it too much at the box office.

Incredibles 2 is out in the UK on Friday, July 13 and a little earlier in the US on June 15.
