The Circle has confirmed its 2019 finalists after an emotional penultimate episode on Thursday night (October 17).

With the game drawing to a close, tensions were high amongst the remaining players as they were asked to rate each other once again – but at this late stage, they knew they had to get tactical with their voting.

After Tim, Sammie/James, Georgina, Ella, Woody and Paddy all rated each other in order of their favourite to least-favourite, Ella, Woody and Paddy emerged joint bottom, with the top two Tim and Georgina becoming Influencers.

Tim and Georgina knew that their next trip to the Hangout would be their most difficult yet, but it didn't help that they had completely opposite intentions.

Tim was keen to save Woody and Ella and was also eager to see Sammie/James blocked after her/his villainous turn the night before (Tim has all but clocked that Sammie is a catfish), but Georgina wanted to save Sammie/James and Paddy.

After much deliberation, Georgina was then faced with the painful task of blocking their chosen player face-to-face. And much to Tim's disappointment, that player was Ella.

A tearful Georgina soon seemed to regret her decision, too, after meeting Ella and realising she was genuine. She may have even had her opinion of Sammie/James altered after Ella shared details of a coded message she/he sent to Paddy in the group chat.

Nevertheless, with Ella gone that means that The Circle has found its five finalists – Tim, Georgina, Sammie/James, Woody and Paddy, one of which is on the verge of winning £100,000.

One thing's for certain, there'll be more than a couple of memorable reactions when the players finally meet face-to-face and discover they've all been catfished by Sammie/James.

The Circle concludes with its live final tonight (October 18) at 10pm on Channel 4.
