The Circle: ‘Cancer doctor’ Jennifer gets the boot after struggling with ‘morally wrong’ lie

A woman pretending to be a cancer doctor has been given the boot from Channel 4 reality show The Circle after struggling to cope with her “morally wrong” game plan.

The Circle follows a group of people living separately in a block of flats with their only means of communicating via social media app, The Circle. They can lie about who they are and catfish their fellow contestants as a means to reaching the final and winning the £50,000 prize.

Ad executive Jennifer, 40, tricked her competitors into believing she is a 34-year-old oncologist – but she changed her profession to “junior doctor” after grappling with lying about cancer.

On being asked about her job by fellow contestant Genelle, she said: “I don’t like lying about this. I’m backtracking on my game plan. Cancer doctor is a step way too far.

“I’m not going to go ahead with that. It’s morally wrong. I’m going to stick to junior doctor I think.”

Jennifer later became the first contestant to be ‘blocked’ and booted off after she was ranked the lowest on initial impressions by her co-stars.

Dan and Alex ranked highest and were awarded influencer status and earned the right to choose who to block.

Jennifer – who will come face-to-face with a contestant of her choice in tonight’s episode – sparked a backlash online over her decision to play an oncologist.

Viewers branded her “scum” while others noted the broadcaster aired a serious Stand Up To Cancer message during the advert break.

The Circle is on Channel 4, tonight at 10pm
