The Circle returned to our screens tonight (March 16) for series three following last week's celebrity special episodes, with a brand new batch of contestants entering that famous block of flats ready to form some attachments.
Nine new contestants have entered the apartment building, in which they live just feet away from each other but can only communicate via a social media network called The Circle.
With some players playing as themselves and others catfishing, they will need to chat, flirt and rate each other in order to stay in the game and be in with a chance of winning the big prize of £100,000.
The new group of contestants sees Manrika, Tally, Vithun, Billy and Andy playing as themselves, while there are also four catfishing players.
Hashu is playing as his uncle Syed, Yolanda is playing as her husband Chris, and father and daughter pair Jamie and Millie are pretending to be letting agent Penny.
James, meanwhile, is playing as NHS nurse Gemma, but James actually has another alter ego which the other contestants know nothing about so far – because James used to be known as Hunter, one of the athletic stars of '90s sports game show Gladiators.
Viewers were more than a little surprised to see Hunter himself settling down in his cosy Circle flat with his two pet dogs:
Tonight's episode ended with a couple of big shocks, as 'Gemma' was rated the most popular player by the other members of the Circle. But James didn't have long to celebrate his victory, as he was suddenly hit with a bombshell – he was now the only Influencer and had to choose one player to block from The Circle immediately.
After agonising over the decision, James decided to block 'Chris' – aka, Yolanda – after suspecting that Chris was a catfish. Yolanda was given the opportunity to meet one of her fellow players before leaving and she headed to see 'Syed'.
But rather than being greeted by Hashu, Yolanda was met with host Emma Willis on a video call – who informed her that she would not be leaving after all, but would instead choose another player to 'clone'.
From now on, the other players will not be able to tell who is the original and who is the clone. Who will Yolanda choose?
The Circle continues tomorrow (March 17) at 10pm on Channel 4.
