Cirencester Town appoint club stalwart as new manager

James Mortimer-Jones has been appointed manager of Cirencester Town following the departure of John Brough.

Mortimer-Jones has been part of the set-up at the Corinium Stadium for 14 years as player, coach and then assistant manager.

The club requested voluntary relegation from the Southern League at the end of the 2023/24 campaign.

They will compete in the Premier Division of the Hellenic League next season.

Mortimer-Jones was a youth player at Shrewsbury Town before spells at Carterton Town, North Leigh and Didcot Town.

The hardworking midfielder went on to make more than 300 appearances for Cirencester, moving into coaching during Charlie Griffin's spell as manager.
