With the Citizens Theatre set to reopen its doors this year after closing in 2018 for major redevelopment works, the organisers are now looking for staff for a range of roles.

The famous theatre in the Gorbals recently announced the show that will be taking to the stage to reopen the doors and has now set out to find the right people to take the venue forward.

Work began on the first major redevelopment of the Category B listed building since it began life as a working theatre in 1878 in 2018, and it is now set to reopen in autumn this year.

The seven-year construction project included a substantial restoration of the original sandstone Victorian auditorium, which includes a new 150 seat Studio Theatre with new bar facilities and social spaces, as well as improved backstage facilities and artist accommodation.

The theatre now needs people for roles including front of house, bar and events, building and facilities and finance and fundraising.

They posted: "We're recruiting a welcoming and industrious Operations Team to reopen our building this year.

"Whether you’re passionate about people, finance, or fundraising, we have exciting opportunities to join our team.

"Behind every great show is an incredible team – and we need YOU!"
