A new retro disco club named Gloria's is preparing to open on Back Berry Street. Gloria's will move into the premises which was previously the late-night cocktail and rock and roll bar MOJO.

Owners have invested more than £1m to transform the venue into a new space. Launching on Friday, September 27, Gloria's aims to be the "hotspot of all things disco and pop".

Guests can first enjoy drinks in the cocktail lounge before Gloria's transforms into "Liverpool’s best dance club" in the evening. Jimmy Allen will be the resident DJ taking guests from evening drinks right through until 5am with disco and pop anthems.

Gloria's will also host live disco bands and local and international DJs appearing on a regular basis. The venue's interior has been designed by R2A Studio who are known for their work in venues such as Korova, Mowgli and Alma de Cuba.

The venue includes a bright pink floor, a large central DJ stage and an "immersive light-up bar". The club's "throwback" aesthetic is complete with striking colours, neon lights and disco balls hanging above the dancefloor.

Sean Singleton from DGB Hospitality Group said: “We’re immensely proud to be bringing Gloria’s to Liverpool and it feels really special being the tenth part of the DGB Hospitality family. It’s a huge project with our biggest investment yet, with over £1million going into making this Liverpool’s hottest new destination.

"It’s a different proposition to our existing sites and will channel the magic and hedonism of some of the world’s greatest disco clubs, joining our existing portfolio. We can’t wait to unveil Gloria’s to the city."

Gloria’s grand opening is on Friday, September 27. The venue will be open weekly every Wednesday to Sunday until late, and until 5am at weekends.
