Police launch appeal after man glassed outside City of London pub in 'dangerously reckless' attack

Police in London's financial district are appealing for information over an “unprovoked assault” on a man outside a wine bar earlier this year.

An unidentified man threw a glass at an “innocent bystander” outside the Jamaica Wine House on St Michael's Alley, Cornhill, at around 9.23pm on Thursday 10 October.

The incident left a man with a large wound to his face that required stitches in hospital.

On Tuesday, the City of London Police released CCTV footage of a number of people they wish to speak to over the "dangerously reckless" assault.

Detective Constable Chris Arnold said: “The victim in this case was enjoying an evening out with his friends and, through no fault of his own, ended up needing a trip to hospital.

“The suspect was dangerously reckless and gave no thought to the consequences of his actions.

"We are appealing to the public for any information that may help us identify him, or any of the people he was with, on the evening in question.”

Earlier in December, City of London Police launched a hunt for a jogger who elbowed a commuter in the face and broke his nose while he was running.

The runner struck the commuter, who was walking with two other pedestrians, outside the Royal Bank of Scotland at about 9pm on 18 October.
