Civilian 'Seriously Injured' by Fire Burning in Southwest Portugal

Ten people were injured after a fire broke out in Palmela, a town in southern Portugal, according to local media.

The injured included five firefighters and five civilians, one of whom was “seriously injured with burns,” reports said.

The regional commander of Lisbon and Tagus Valley confirmed that the fire that started on Wednesday, July 13, reached the Arrabida Natural Park, a protected area.

According to local reports, several homes in the region have been evacuated.
