Cladding crisis: People 'trapped' in unsellable homes

Safety inspections in the wake of the Grenfell tragedy have exposed fire safety faults in more than 200 buildings across Greater Manchester. It means thousands of people like Tom Brothwell and Rachael Loftus who have bought flats across Greater Manchester and beyond, have been hit by huge bills, legal action and are stuck in unsellable homes. Speaking to ITV News on the matter, Tom said that he was “essentially trapped until we know when the building will be fixed and who will pay for it”, and Rachael described the situation as “heartbreaking”.
