Clapham shooting: Shocking moment man jumps out of car and shoots victim on busy south London road

Police have released shocking footage of the moment a man was shot in the leg in Clapham.

A video of the attack shows a man standing on a footpath before another man jumps out of a car, holding what the Met said is a pump action shotgun.

He then runs towards the person on the footpath, fires two shots, and turns around to run back to his car, nearly tripping over in the process.

The Met, issuing an appeal for information on Tuesday, said it was called to Bedford Road at the junction with Fenwick Place at 9.30pm on June 4.

When officers arrived, there was no trace of the victim or suspects. They only found a shell casing.

About 15 minutes later, a 24-year-old man went to a hospital in south London suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg.

His injuries were declared non-life threatening.

The car was a "light-coloured" Lexus RX 300 with false plates. It pulled up outside the Falcon pub.

The car has not been recovered and there have been no arrests.
