Clashes in Athens on Day of Strikes Protesting Deadly Train Crash

Demonstrators gathered in Athens on March 16 as thousands when on strike in response to the Tempi train collision, in which 57 people died.

Local media reported the protest started on the lower side of Syntagma Square, before spreading to an area in front of the parliament building.

Some protesters threw Molotov cocktails and police responded with teargas.
