Classic TV comedies 'dinnerladies', 'Keeping Up Appearances', and 'This Life' will be streamed on BBC iPlayer later this month.

The BBC has confirmed the late, great Victoria Wood's hit programme 'dinnerladies' - which is set in the canteen of Manchester-based factory HWD Components, and follows the lives of its caterers and regular customers - is the first of the trio to hit the streaming service today (11.11.21).

Both series of the 1990s show, which starred Julie Walters, Celia Imrie, Thelma Barlow, Maxine Peake and Anne Reid, are available.

'Keeping Up Appearances', which featured Patricia Routledge and Clive Swift as social-climber Hyacinth Bucket and her long-suffering husband Richard, will air from Tuesday (16.11.21).

Viewers will be able to binge all five series of the 1990s comedy.

What's more, both series of 'This Life' - which featured Amita Dhiri, Andrew Lincoln, Daniela Nardini, Jack Davenport and Jason Hughes - and a 10 years later special will stream on iPlayer from November 30th.

The show told the story of five old college friends who shared a house together as young lawyers in the 1990s.

Dan McGolpin, director, BBC iPlayer and channels, said: "BBC iPlayer has more choice than ever and alongside many of this year’s biggest hits we’re adding these star-studded nineties classics.

"We’ve got something for everyone, whether you want to binge on a much-loved programme or discover something new."

It comes as several classic 1990s box sets are already available on iPlayer, including 'The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air', 'One Foot in the Grave', 'The Thin Blue Line', 'Absolutely Fabulous' and 'The Vicar of Dibley'.
