Clevedon cat stuck in a drainpipe saved in dramatic firefighter rescue
In a tale {tail} sure to warm your heart, a Clevedon cat was rescued by firefighters after accidentally getting herself stuck inside a drainpipe.
The lucky moggy, John, was found stuck headfirst in the pipe - leading to obvious concern from her loving owners. Although it could have turned out very differently, John was spared one of her nine lives and no serious injuries were found.
A series of John looking rather embarrassed and confused were shared by Clevedon Firefighters on Facebook following the incident on Saturday morning, which occurred at 9.55am. The post blew up on the social media site as hundreds rushed to congratulate the emergency services and send their well wishes to the lucky cat.

In a statement released by the branch of the Avon Fire and Rescue Service, they said that the crew used ladders and small tools to get John out. They said that the "easiest and least distressing option was to cut a section of the pipe out with John in situ".
They explained: "A crew from Clevedon were called at 0955 this morning to a cat not stuck up a tree but stuck in a drainpipe! John (Yes John) the cat had get herself (Yes John is a girl, it’s a long story) stuck in a garage drainpipe from the inside of the garage.
"The crew used ladders and small tools to cut John out. The easiest and least distressing option was to cut a section of the pipe out with John in situ. John was then transported to a local vets who sedated her in order for the rescue to continue where no serious injury was found.
"John was left with the vet and her family to be checked over by the vet until well enough to return home. #NotJustFires #ONCALL."
John's mum was over the moon with the rescue, telling the team she was "so grateful".
Cassie Darling responded to the fire service saying: "I'm so grateful to you guys for rescuing my girl. We've been having a cuddle and watching her rise to fame [sic] absolutely bonkers! Thank you so much xxx."
The award for vet's of the day went to 'Vets4Pets Clevedon' for helping finalise the rescue of John.
They said: "Saturday took an unexpected turn when gorgeous little Juno (John) arrived at the practice alongside the fire brigade after getting herself stuck in a pipe! An intravenous catheter was placed in Juno's leg and Juno received some oxygen therapy and sedation whilst the pipe was removed by the fire brigade.
"She was then cuddled and pampered before being returned home to her relieved owner. We are extremely grateful for Clevedon fire brigade's help with Juno and hope she stays out of any further trouble!"
Cassie also took the time to thank the vets, saying: "Can't thank you ladies enough for your care [sic] We've been cuddling all afternoon, just picked the phone to discover she's now an internet sensation! What a bonkers day! Xx."
