A sneaky kid managed to both confound his parents AND get their permission to throw a party by hacking their phones.

Reddit user Brendan reprogrammed his mum’s phone to automatically change the word “no” to “HELL YES” while his dad’s “no” cheekily came out as “WHERE THE B***** AT.”

Brendan posted a screen grab of the group chat on the social media site detailing his baffled parents’ response when he asked their permission to have a party.

“Hey guys can I throw a party tmrw night,” he wrote.

“HELL YES,” his mother responded, before checking herself: “Wait. I typed HELL YES.”

The audacious teen continues with the prank, innocently asking “Really?”

“HELL YES” his mum wrote back.

Unfortunately, his puzzled dad’s intervention had no more success.

“Brendan, she’s trying to say WHERE THE B***** AT?” he texted.

Still confounded by her failure to type the word no, his mum tried again.

“Jim what is going on, I am saying HELL YES,” she wrote.

“Thanks, you guys are the best,” the gleeful Brendan replied.

And it seems his joke has gone down well with other teens - the screenshot has already been shared more than 1.2 million times on viral image site Imgur.

“I laughed a little too much at this,” one user wrote, while another commented “dude, that made me die laughing.”

But perhaps all parents should watch their phones in future if another user’s prediction comes true. “This is going to become a thing, isn’t it?“ he wrote.
