Climate Activists March to White House Challenging Proposed Oil Pipeline

Climate activists protesting a proposed oil pipeline marched to the White House on Wednesday, June 30, demanding a stop to a multi-billion-dollar project that the Biden administration has backed.

The Line 3 pipeline planned by Canadian company Enbridge Energy would run from Alberta to Superior, Wisconsin, “through untouched wetlands and the treaty territory of Anishinaabe peoples,” according to a website dedicated to protesting the project.

Demonstrators gathered near the White House on Wednesday morning. Some activists sat on the ground in front of security fencing with kayaks.
