Amazon has slashed the price of a "brilliant" household gadget that is said to dry clothes faster. The Dry:Soon Deluxe 3-Tier Heated Clothes Airer is now 40% off in the Black Friday sales down to £149.99 from £249.99.

The Dry:Soon Deluxe 3-Tier Heated Clothes Airer promises 21m of drying space but still folds to 9cm wide for easy storage. The Lakeland product description says it has the capacity to hold 15kg of laundry.

The description said: "Ideal for the UK climate - let's face it, the UK knows a rainy day or two... or three! The Dry:Soon Deluxe Airer is ideal to dry your clothes more quickly than a traditional clothes horse.

"The heated, thermostatically controlled, lightweight aluminium frame will dry your laundry gently - perfect for delicates like satin and silk not suitable for a tumble dryer." It has a 300 wattage, cord length of 1.35m and has a built-in timer that can be set for up to 12 hours.

It has many positive comments, with many saying it has saved them money as they have not had to use the heating. Elaine said: "Sturdy, easy to assemble, looks good and does the job advertised. Cheaper than a tumble dryer and only costs 10p per hour when switched on. Pleased with product."

Another said: "Works very well, doesn't get hot but stays warm enough to dry clothes faster, really easy to install, big but yet compact, super easy to assemble, very sturdy. 5/5"

Sandra Binns said: "I've used it three times so far, its really good and cheap to run I also got the cover which helps the clothes dry quicker, there is not much hanging space on the bottom layer/but ideal for spreading your smalls on."

Carol Burnett said: "I chose this particular model because it looked more sturdy than some of the others and offered lots of drying space. It's one of the best purchases I've made in a long time.

"Even though we haven't moved yet, we've already been using it, and it's brilliant. It takes a full wash load of clothes or towels, and a full set of bedding. For our king-size bedding, we have to fold it, but even then, it still dries in good time.

"The ability to set how many hours you want the dryer on for and just leave it is so easy and worry-free. You can also delay when you want the dryer to come on."

But Carol added there was a downside, she said: "The only negative I can find is that the power cable could really do with being longer, which was a point made in the other reviews I read, so I was aware of the issue before I bought it."

Alternatively, you could use a dehumidifier to help dry your clothes, the 12L Pro Breeze model, described as "ideal for damp, condensation and laundry drying" in its product description, is now on offer at £129.99. Or if you are looking for a cheaper airer, the Innotic Airer Clothes Drying Rack has been reduced to £29.44 from £31.99.
