Clothes and Toys Donated Following Deadly Norway Landslide

The Nannestad and Gjerdrum Red Cross in Norway on January 2 said it had received “large quantities” of clothing, toys, and hygiene items at their donations center in Holter, after a deadly landslide struck homes in Gjerdrum early on December 30.

This footage, shared on January 2, shows the hall where donations were being received and sorted.

That day, authorities reported that a third person had been found dead, while seven people remained unaccounted for, Norwegian media reported.

The Norwegian Police Service said it was concentrating search and rescue operations in the area where the third body was found.

According to a statement from the Gjerdrum Municipality on Saturday, rescue efforts were ongoing and entry to the evacuation zone remained prohibited without a police escort. Credit: Nannestad and Gjerdrum Red Cross via Storyful
