Cloud Formation Over Queensland Beach Is Most Serene Thing You'll See All Day

An eye-catching cloud formation loomed over the shore at Broadbeach, a suburb of Queensland’s Gold Coast, on the morning of October 20.

Seen by a number of people in the area in the early hours of Sunday, it was identified by some as a roll cloud.

Queensland native Brett Allen caught footage of the cloud formation early on October 20, and with birds chirping in the background virtually the only audible sound in the video, it makes for a serene scene.

Roll clouds are “tube-shaped” clouds associated “with a gust front of a convective storm,” according to the American Meteorological Society.
