S Club 3 are responding to allegations from their former bandmate Paul Cattermole that he was bullied within the group.

Paul has gained a renewed level of fame in recent weeks for first selling his Best Newcomer BRIT Award for more than £66,000 on eBay, and then chucking his Best British Single BRIT for 'Don't Stop Movin'' up for auction too.

The 40-year-old sadly has since detailed how an injury performing in Rocky Horror Picture Show left him in dire straits financially in recent years, after tensions boiled over within S Club.

In an interview with NME, Paul accused Jo O'Meara - who previously faced bullying accusations on Celebrity Big Brother in 2007 - of unfairly singling him out in side-project S Club 3, which currently comprises Jo, Tina Barrett and Bradley McIntosh.

"Me and Bradley were doing it for about two years – and then Jo came along," he told the publication. "That bully from Essex came along and bullied her way into the situation [laughs]. 'You know what I am, Paul – I'm the anchor in this band'.

"I think you missed a W there! No, I'm half-mucking about, half-serious. We do actually get on. Bradley's dad manages that [S Club 3] situation, so when the opportunity came to bring Tina in and make it a three that way, I found myself not getting booked as much."

A spokesperson for S Club 3 has denied those accusations to The Huffington Post, while also indicating that the current incarnation of the group don't plan on getting back with Paul anytime soon.

"Prior to 2008, Bradley McIntosh and Paul Cattermole were doing a number of DJ sets which proved to be successful and due to their success we, SLNB (Management)/Loco Talent (Agent), approached Jo O'Meara in 2008 to ask if she would be interested in working in a new project called SC3," their representative said.

"Jo agreed and from that point onwards they have been working ever since. A number of years later, Tina Barrett was also approached by us and agreed to join in the project.

"In 2015 Paul made a decision that he no longer wanted to be part of the project as he wanted to concentrate more on acting. The door was always left open for Paul to return to the project if ever he wanted to.

"We wish Paul all the best in his future endeavours."

The full S Club 7 most recently reunited back in 2014 to record a Children in Need single and then embark on a one-off greatest hits tour.
