From clubs to raves, I've done it all, but nothing beats my favourite bar in Liverpool

I've visited many cities and countries with unbelievable nightlife. From clubs to the rave scene, I've done it all, but there is nothing that quite hits the same as my favourite bar in Liverpool.

It was my first night out in Liverpool after moving here in April. My colleagues decided to go for after-work drinks to show me the city’s nightlife. Little did I know at that time that I would end up meeting some of my best friends and dancing in my new favourite bar until the early hours of the morning.

We began the evening at a pub near the office. It was mellow and offered quality wine. The night continued, drinks were had, karaoke was sung, and my little feet hurt from dancing. It was then, as most of the crowd had dispersed and only a few people remained, that we decided to visit Mathew Street in the city centre.

Liverpool’s renowned Mathew Street is home to the Cavern Club, where The Beatles first launched their career before attaining international stardom. The street attracts millions of tourists annually - including me.

For such a small passageway, Mathew Street is packed with sightseers and visitors crowded into its narrow alleyway and has dozens of thriving bars - which on weekend nights you can't seem to move in. I had heard of Mathew Street before I moved here and had visited on boozy weekends in the city in the past. So, when it was brought up in conversation as the next place to visit, I could not say no.

We went to Mathew Street, and I have never come across a place like it - despite the many cities, countries, and raves I’ve been to. The street is thriving with bars, live music and people enjoying themselves. One thing I love is that everyone spills out of the bars into the streets and you can just hear live music wherever you are.

But, there was one bar that captured my heart: Wall of Fame. My best friend and I danced around the dance floor as if we were about to win Strictly's glitter ball trophy. Every time I said I was going to go home another great song came on and I just couldn’t pull myself away. I’m labelling Wall of Fame my new favourite bar simply for its music, and my favourite spot on the dance floor to dance all night.

After that night, Wall of Fame became one of my most frequented spots in the whole city. I just love it. I love it so much that when my mum, auntie and not-too-little sister came to visit for the first time earlier this month it was one of the first places I knew I wanted to show them in this unbelievable city.
