Co Antrim bar and restaurant announces it will reopen after shutting doors earlier this year
A restaurant in Co Antrim has announced it is set to reopen after closing its doors earlier this year.
The Windrose Bar and Restaurant on Rodger's Quay in Carrickfergus made an announcement in May that they would shut up shop after 22 years in business.
Known for its panoramic views of Belfast Lough, rustic bistro-style food and its use of locally sourced ingredients, owner Gary Callaghan cited "difficult conditions" in the hospitality industry for the decision to close.

On Sunday, The Windrose team took to social media to reveal a U-turn decision to reopen the bar and restaurant after a number of months off.
In a call out for staff, they took to Facebook to say: "RE-OPENING!
"We are delighted to announce that we will be re-opening the WINDROSE! We will announce the opening date in a few weeks."
Back in May, Gary thanked loyal customers for their support over the last two decades as he made the difficult decision to cease operations at the bar and restaurant.
He said: "It is with deep regret and sadness that we have decided to close the Windrose Bar and Restaurant. Conditions in the hospitality industry have made it increasingly difficult over the last number of years causing us to take this decision.
"We would like to thank all our staff, past and present, for their dedicated service over the past 22 years. Finally, thank you to all our loyal customers over the years!"
